Washington University in St. Louis

I started college at Washington University in St. Louis, and I gravitated straight to the entrepreneurship department. I was already running Profit Paradise, my first company, and two professors there took me under their wing: they helped me think about how to scale it and plugged me into the founder community in St. Louis.

That year I was invited to speak at the department's alumni events about building a real business while still in school. It was the first time school and the business felt connected instead of separate.

I left after freshman year to take a gap year, both to spend time with my mom and because building had started to outrun school. That gap year is when Mocean was born, and I went on to finish my degree at the University of Michigan.
